Inflation
Annual inflation was 2.6% in August 2026, down from 2.9% in July 2026. Food prices were down 0.1% on a year earlier.
Interest rates
In July 2026, the prime lending rate was 10.25%, the policy rate 6.75% and the 91-day Treasury bill rate 7.02%. The Central Bank last raised its policy rate in May 2026, from 6.50% to 6.75%.
Mobile data prices
In October 2026, one gigabyte cost M32.88 on average across the two networks' flagship 30-day bundles. Smaller bundles cost noticeably more per gigabyte.
Newspapers on social media
In the latest counts, taken in October 2026, Lesotho Tribune has the largest Facebook following at about 236,000, followed by Public Eye at about 183,000.
